High School Physics Teachers' Day

A special day has been prepared on Monday, July 18 for high school physics teachers that have never attended a national AAPT Meeting. Qualified teachers will receive a discounted registration fee of $85This fee is much less than the usual early bird one-day registration fee of $245 for AAPT members and $460 for non-members. We are offering this special registration fee, because we want to encourage you to sample what AAPT has to offer high school physics teachers. We are confident that once you see what AAPT has to offer, you will become an active AAPT member.

  • Particle Physics Investigations by Students'
  • Adaptation of Physics Activities to Three Major Components of NGSS

Attend Weekend Workshops

(Workshops are an additional cost)

  • Activity Based Physics in the Classroom
  • Science Safety Protocols for Lab, Classroom and Field
  • The Physics of Chemistry
  • Tools for Teaching Students to Synthesize Concepts

Additional Activities

  • Visit the vendor exhibit area to see the latest lab/demo equipment and textbooks
  • Visit the High School Physics Teachers Lounge
  • Attend the meeting of the Committee on Physics in High Schools
  • Develop professional relationships with physics teacher colleagues
