Outstanding Teaching Assistant Awards

Each year, AAPT solicits nominations for Outstanding Teaching Assistant Awards.

Any college or university physics department chair may nominate two Outstanding Teaching Assistants at that institution to be recognized with an AAPT Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award. The award winner receives a complimentary one-year Student Membership in AAPT with electronic access to the American Journal of Physics and The Physics Teacher. The award includes a certificate, letter of recognition, and sample press release for your local media.  (Departments that want to recognize additional TAs can pay the Student Membership dues for each awardee.)

Please sign in with your AAPT member account to download the Award information  (4 pages: including instructions, awardee listing form, press release, and certificate).

The annual deadline for nominations is June 30th.

For further information on this program, contact the AAPT Membership Department at membership@aapt.org.
