The photo is taken through a 35mm camera with the shutter open looking from the lens through the back of the camera, creating an inverted image of a person inside the lens while seeing the real person behind it. The lens was closer to the digital camera than the object and that made it easier to frame the object in the lens. The light enters through the back of the camera and refracts to the front of the lens where I see the image. The image is inverted and smaller, which is the effect of a convex lens with the object outside 2F. The light rays converge outside the focal point after passing through the middle of the convex lenses to form this inverted image.
