Elected Member of the Executive Board
One Member-at-Large of the AAPT Executive Board is elected each year to serve a three-year term. The candidate elected in a given year (20XX) will assume office at the close of the Association's next Annual Meeting (20XX+1). Elected members may not serve consecutive terms.

Elected members serve on the AAPT Executive Board that meets regularly at the times of the Association's winter and summer meetings, usually the day before and during these meetings. In addition, the Board has been meeting in the spring and fall, usually in April and October. A Board member thus meets approximately 14 to 16 days each year. They also serve as members of the AAPT Council that ordinarily meets at the time of the Association's winter meeting.

There are three Members-at-Large of the Executive Board, one being elected each year. There is no Constitutional restriction on who may hold these positions. It has been customary, however, to nominate for these positions representatives of physics in secondary education, of physics in two-year colleges, and of physics in four-year colleges or universities.

The at-large members serve on the various advisory committees on a rotating scheme as shown:
