Biography
I am currently a senior at Middlesex School in Concord, MA. I live in Wayland, MA, with my family and dog and cat. Last summer I worked at Harvard’s Center for Astrophysics and also took a Quantum Mechanics course at Stanford University, where I will be attending in the fall. I am very interested in astronomy, and built my own telescope last year. I was a National Merit Scholarship finalist. In math, I have qualified twice for the USAMO exam. I have also scored highly on the National Latin Exam. I’ve won school awards in math, science, and overall academics, including the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award. My favorite extra-curricular activity is backstage work for my school’s theater productions. We build sets for a musical, a drama, and two series of student directed one-act plays each year. Besides building, we also run the lights and sound, shift scenery between scenes, and organize props. I am no athlete, but I have come to like playing squash just for fun. When at home, I can spend hours at a time working on a jigsaw puzzle.
