This page will be updated periodically with important information about the 2026 F=ma exam, USAPhO exam, and the U.S. Physics Team camp.

You can find statistics for the 2026 F=ma exam at this LINK.
As in previous years, we will publish only the names of students who qualified for USAPhO and will not publish individual scores. The F=ma exam serves primarily as a qualifying examination rather than a ranking instrument, and small differences in scores near the cutoff do not meaningfully distinguish students’ abilities. For this reason, we focus on identifying the group of students advancing to USAPhO rather than reporting numerical comparisons among participants.
We are still finalizing some details about the USAPhO exam and will email the teachers/proctors of qualifying students as soon as those details are confirmed.
We will also post updates here, as well as email qualifying students directly. This will include information about a required survey and possibly a student registration form.

We plan to post the F=ma results next Monday, March 9.
The USAPhO exam will take place on April 2, 2026, from 1:00-5:00 pm EDT.
We are still finalizing some details about the USAPhO exam and will email the teachers/proctors of the qualifying students as soon as that information is ready.
We will also email the qualifying students directly using the email address they provided when registering in EdVistas.

IMPORTANT: Proctors for the F=ma exam should have received an email yesterday, February 5th, from EdVistas with instructions to log in and create an account. The email was from noreply@edvistas.com. Proctors, if you did not receive the email, please check your spam and email programs@aapt.org if you did not receive it.
Once you log in to your account, there will be instructions for having your students register. We will also be posting exam instructions in a day or two.
Please have your students register as soon as possible.

PLEASE NOTE the F=ma exam registration deadline has been extended to January 21st, 11:59pm EST.

Registration for the 2026 F=ma exam is open. Register online with a credit card, or by mail with a check or purchase order at the REGISTRATION page.
NEW for 2026, the F=ma and USAPhO exams will be conducted online via Educational Vistas only. There will be no printable versions of the exams available.

The 2025 U.S. Physics Team was recognized in Washington, D.C., including a visit to the White House with President Trump and conversations with OSTP leadership, following the team’s five-gold medal performance at the 55th IPhO in Paris (July 17–25, 2025). Congratulations Team!!
