Benefits of supporting the team

AAPT and AIP host the U.S. Physics Team because we want to promote and demonstrate academic excellence through preparation for and participation in the International Physics Olympiad.

Each year we move ever closer to fulfilling this plan by:

  • Expanding awareness of and participation in the program
  • Providing a meaningful scientific and cultural experience for team members, including opportunities to meet new people, learn in intellectual and experiential ways, and gain international exposure
  • Winning medals and competing successfully on an international level.

In selecting and preparing for the Olympiad, we provide encouragement to thousands of students across the USA. Your support of the U.S. Physics Team will demonstrate a shared commitment to:

  • Improving academic success at our schools
  • Encouraging public appreciation and support for science education
  • Ensuring that the USA is well represented internationally

We need approximately $205,000 to support the team, and rely on donations from individuals, corporations, foundations, scientific societies and AIP to remain effective. We invite you to become a partner in this project through a gift to the US Physics Team.

Help us reach our goal of $205,000

The U.S. Physics Team represents some of our nation's most gifted and well-educated young people who demonstrate that we are capable of producing students who can compete with the world's best. Members of the U.S. Physics Team are our nation's future leaders in teaching, research, business, and government, and will contribute substantially to society at large.

High school memories are among the strongest and longest lasting. We hope that you can be a part of the memories of the 2000 Physics Olympiad.
