Physics and Astronomy Experienced Faculty Workshop
July 24 - 26, 2014
AAPT, AAS, and APS will be hosting an July 24-26, 2014 workshop for experienced (tenured) physics and astronomy faculty members. This workshop is intended only for faculty members who have not participated in the Physics and Astronomy New Faculty Workshop program.
The goals of the workshop are (1) to learn more about effective physics and astronomy teaching practices and the evidence for the effectiveness of those practices in your roles as department leaders, mentors for junior faculty members, and physics and astronomy educators, and (2) to share your and your department’s teaching experiences with your peers and the workshop leaders. The workshop will have a mix of presentations by national leaders in physics education and small group discussions. A $200 travel subsidy is available for each member of a team of two or more faculty members from the same department.
