Biography
I live in Highland Park, Illinois, and am currently attending the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) in Aurora, Illinois. I am seventeen years old and was born the 27th of March 1987.
I attended middle school at Elm Place Elementary School in Highland Park. There I was moved up a grade level in mathematics and science, and commuted each day to take physics at Highland Park High School. In seventh grade, the Midwest Talent Search recognized me for my SAT score and awarded me two first place medals for my ACT composite and ACT reading scores.
In 2001 I entered Highland Park High School as a freshman. I was moved ahead a grade level in english and another in math. I joined the wrestling team and stage crew, and also received the school high score on the AMC-10. In the spring of 2002, I applied to IMSA.
I started sophomore year at IMSA in fall 2002. I joined Mu Alpha Theta, the mathematics honor society, and mock trial, as well as joining the swim and track teams later in the year. In addition I became a layout editor for the school newspaper.
This year, I became assistant editor in chief of the school paper. I also qualified to take the USAMO. In the fall I attended a conference in New York City about the effects of science on urban life.
During the 2003-2004 school year, I worked on a research project in non-linear dynamics, with Dr. Yau Wah of the High Energy Physics department at University of Chicago. I presented some of this work at the Illinois Junior Academy of Science state fair, and will present again next winter at an American Association for the Advancement of Science conference in Washington DC.
I enjoy playing guitar, swimming, and water polo. This summer I hope to find a position working in high energy physics at University of Chicago.
