Biography
I was born on the third of June, in the year 1987, at Mercy Hospital in New York. I spent the first five years of my life growing up in Long Island, New York, until moving to Wellington, Florida in the summer of 1992, where I currently reside.
At present, I am a junior at Suncoast Community High School, enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program as well as the Math/Science/Engineering program. I aspire to one day become a theoretical physicist, and hold a research position at CERN or Fermilab. I have studied American Kenpo Karate under Master Sean P. Kelly for over 12 years, and am planning to continue my studies well into the future. In the past, I have gone to State Academic Games in mathematics and social studies on four occasions (sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth grade), and have advanced to national competition on two of those occasions (sixth and eighth grade) – one year in mathematics, and one year in social studies. For four summers, I participated in the West Virginia Wesleyan College Summer Gifted Program, where I received a unique opportunity to expand both my intellectual and social horizons. I am a member of the team representing Palm Beach County at the Commissioner’s Academic Challenge in Orlando, and next year will be co-captain of our school team. Lastly, I am an active member of the National Honor Society.
Outside of the formal school environment, I enjoy indulging in my passion for mathematics and physics through the marvelous faculties of books and the internet. Also, in contradistinction to the stereotypical view of a “nerd” – a label I bear with pride and dignity – I try to not let my social life fall by the wayside. Aside from spending my Saturdays relaxing among friends at the local arcade, I also enjoy playing Dungeons and Dragons with a group of friends from school.
As a brief yet necessary addendum, it is necessary to mention that I would not be who I am today without the positive guiding influence of my parents, and the pedagogical expertise of a few very talented teachers, such as Jay Cohen, Brian Murray, and Bill Purtell.
