The History of AAPT
The history of the American Association of Physics Teachers (and related organizations) is complex, rich, and fascinating. Several versions of this history exist and are written from a particular individual's perspective. They are listed and linked at the bottom of this page. This version was compiled by Richard Peterson, AAPT Historian, and John Layman, AAPT Archivist, and approved by the Executive Board in 2014.
