Title: Inverted Words
Student: Miguel Cortel
School: Bell High School, Nepean, ON, Canada
Teacher: Diana Hall
In the tiny droplets one can read the words "Scientific American"; however, in the background of this picture, the letters "M" and "E" can be seen upside down. What causes this to happen?
The letters "M" and "E" in the background are in fact part of the word "American," on a Scientific American magazine. The water droplets are acting like converging lenses, inverting the image and making it seem upside down.
