About Kevin

I have always been curious about how things worked. I did not '‘discover’ physics until my college years at North Carolina A&T State University. My first professor, Dr. Stuart Ahrens, was so enthusiastic about Mechanics and Energy. He would set problems up with our names in the situations. Simple but effective at increasing engagement. I was hooked! After completing my bachelor’s in Physics. I had the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree in Applied Physics. My graduate Advisor and Mentor was and is Dr. Aaron Titus. He introduced me to AAPT as a graduate student many years ago.

When I became a secondary-level physics teacher, I wanted to connect with the Physics teaching community to learn of new and exciting opportunities for professional and educational growth. Through the networking opportunities in AAPT, I was able to participate in cutting edge investigations such as the Laser Interferometer Gravitation Observatory (LIGO) in Washington State, Quantum for All-A program developed by Dr. Karen Jo Matsler, and Princeton Plasma Physics Lab to name a few.

My favorite thing about teaching physics is that physics is everywhere. There are always relatable examples of physics to share with students at any level. I strongly believe it is the teacher who can bring physics to life and inspire young and not-so-young minds.
