Title: Sinusoidal Sound Wave

To obtain the standing-wave pattern shown in this photograph, a plastic cup filled with water was placed adjacent to a subwoofer emitting a sinusoidal sound wave. I found that the natural resonance frequency for this water sample to be 99.2 Hz. The sound waves traveled through the cup and into the water, producing the symmetrical wave pattern pictured.
