Polage, invented by Austine Wood-Comarow, is a colorful art form in which no pigments are used in making the colors. Instead, the colors are created when polarized light passes through a collage of colorless cellulose tape and viewed through a polarizing filter. Without the polarizing viewer, the Polage looks mostly grey, like etched glass, but when seen through a polarizing filter, brilliant colors appear. The colors change as the polarizing viewer is rotated.
