This photo illustrates two common physics concepts. First, the image in the water droplet is reversed. This is because the curved surface of the droplet acts as an optical lens, which displays an inversion of the picture behind. Another physics phenomenon is the round shape of the water droplet. The surface tension of water is strong enough to keep all the water molecules together. The water stays in a spherical shape because it has the lowest surface area, which is its most stable form.
