Why Join the Virtual PLC?

  • Peer-Led Facilitation: Guided by an active physics classroom teacher who understands today’s real-world classroom dynamics, challenges, and opportunities.

  • Peer Collaboration: Connect directly with a supportive network of physics educators to share lesson plans, troubleshooting strategies, and classroom successes.
  • Practical Classroom Action: Apply new strategies directly in your physics classroom between meetings with lightweight, actionable assignments.
  • Focused 4-Month Commitment: Engage in a streamlined program designed to fit around a busy teaching schedule—just 2 virtual meetings per month over 4 months.
  • Inclusive Educator Community: Collaborate with a diverse cohort of teachers, leveraging shared federation knowledge and resources.

How the Program Works

Over the course of 4 months, you will participate in a blend of collaborative virtual discussions and real-world classroom testing:

  • Bi-Weekly Live Virtual Sessions (8 Meetings Total)

    • Meet twice a month with your peer facilitator and cohort to explore new strategies, share insights, and discuss classroom experiences.
    • Spring semester runs January-April
  • Classroom Action Items Between Sessions
    • Put concepts into practice directly with your students between meetings through manageable, high-impact classroom activities.

Supported by the AIP Venture Grant

This program is proud to be backed by an AIP Venture Grant. This funding supports innovative, strategy-driven initiatives across physical science societies that drive growth, promote inclusive practices, and expand impact across the broader educational community.
