This photo is a wonderful representation of the physics principle of light reflection. The image of the bell tower of the Duomo in Florence, Italy is reflected in the water puddle on street. The still transparent water surface presents a perfect surface to reflect a mirror image of the surrounding area. The incident rays from the Duomo reflect off the water surface and create rays of refraction that reach the camera lens to create the reflected image. This forms a mirror image of the actual tower. Because of the rules of light reflection, the angle of incidence is equal to the angle of refraction.
