Consider submitting a proposal to the Bauder fund by July 1, 2026 for consideration at the upcoming summer meeting
The Bauder fund provides support for equipment and workshops, especially for projects that donate the equipment to the participating teachers after the program ends. The Bauder committee meets at each AAPT meeting to rank the proposals, which are ultimately funded by the Board. The Bauder fund provides a great opportunity to receive funds for projects that might not have any other source of funding. Please take a look at the AAPT website for further details and consider submitting an application for this upcoming cycle. You will find detailed instructions and advice there as well. If you have any questions, please contact James Freericks, Bauder Committee Chair at james.freericks@georgetown.edu.

2026 U. S. Physics Team Medals at the 2026 EUPhO
The 10th Annual European Physics Olympiad (EuPhO) was held June 12—16 in Gothenburg, Sweden, hosted by Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg. Student scholars from 41 countries, including 34 European nations and 7 guest countries, tested their knowledge of physics while competing with some of the world's best young physicists. In addition to the experimental and theoretical examinations, participants had opportunities to experience Swedish culture and visit local sites, including boat trips to Brännö and Marstrand. After the exams, students were able to relax at Liseberg Amusement Park.
At the Closing Ceremony on June 16, medals and special recognitions were announced. Congratulations to the five members of the U.S. Physics Team who represented the United States at EuPhO 2026:
In addition, Bryant Yu received two of the competition's highest distinctions. He was awarded Best in Theory and was named the Absolute Winner of EuPhO 2026, earning the highest overall score among all participants in the Olympiad. Read more.
